Just finished reading my copy of "Winners" and, simply put, Sonnie Beverly has delivered yet another multi-faceted gem for us to enjoy! I found that "love" is a key theme of this book.....love of God......love of family.....love of self......and love between soulmates, all make a cameo appearance. As with her previous offerings in the Saved Folk Series, this story blends the perfect amount of spirituality and reality, built upon a God-inspired message of hope, love, endurance, victory and reconciliation. Although "Winners" is considered a short story, this piece continues the Saved Folk tradition of introducing us to strong, spirit-filled characters that are not afraid to take on life's challenges because they KNOW that God's "got their back"! Indeed, Bryce and Bridget are the main characters....and Ms. Beverly does a beautiful job of weaving their intimate story throughout the fabric of the book, but I also found the other characters to be just as familiar and integral to the story. Without a doubt, I believe that this novel is one of Sonnie Beverly's best yet,and will leave the reader with a more firm belief that "with God, all things are possible".....especially when you you find yourself in the midst of a love worth fighting for!!
